Getting Unstuck

I’ve been stuck.  I’ve been stuck for a few months now.  I’ve been caught up in a consulting project and I’ve put my other work on the back burner.  I haven’t dedicated as much time to creating whether it’s art or writing.  I haven’t coached as much over the last few months.  I’ve been consumed with someone’s business and all the ups and downs involved in consulting within that business.

All the while I’ve been consumed with how to keep moving forward my own business and personal life. Although I think I’ve been less consumed and just thinking way too much and running in circles inside my head.  It’s been incredibly unproductive and exhausting.

Getting unstuck is a personal favorite coaching theme of mine and I’m finding I’m my own best client right now, having to walk my talk.  There’s a lot I can say about getting unstuck and I hope to teach more about this in the coming months.  However, today I found three words helped inspire me: commitment, surrender, and resilience.

I have Angel Cards.  If you’ve never seen these, they are lovely little cards that help inspire me every day.  Just about anyone that’s come to my house has been told they need to pick an angel card.  You can find out more about them here – https://www.innerlinks.com/store/

Today I picked three angel cards: commitment, surrender, and resilience.

As I started writing today, thinking of the theme of getting unstuck, it hit me that these three angels were very helpful in my own journey on that topic.

Commitment.

The angel of commitment is reminding me to stay committed to my cause – through the ups and downs and through the energetic and sluggish times.  Even though it appears there’s a stall in progress, knowing that it’s okay, and there’s a flow. We can’t always be moving.  Sometimes we need to pause but our commitment remains.

Surrender.

Surrendering to that pause, allowing it to happen so that we can regroup and breathe.  Surrendering to the flow.  I believe when we get a cold or flu it’s our bodies way of saying, “it’s time to take a break”.  You’ve been running hard and you need to pause.

Resilience.

Ah resilience!  Knowing that you’ll bounce back and energy will be renewed again.  You are resilient!  You’re flexible.  You’ve gone with the flow.  You’ve surrendered, you’ve paused, and now it’s time to bounce back.

It’s okay to feel stuck.  It allows you a moment to pause, regroup, and re-assess your vision.  It’s an opportunity to support yourself with thoughtful reflection for your cause.  And on the other side of reflection, you’ll hopefully have some clarity and renewed energy for the steps you need to take to continue on your path.angel cards, kathy tyler, joy drake

How did you get into coaching?

      Hi!
Thanks for responding to my blog post. I got into coaching while consulting at Microsoft. I had been an employee there and had since gone back to consult for a few years. I noticed how unhappy people were and I knew that life didn’t have to be lived that way. I knew I wanted to help. That brought me to coaching.
Let me know if you have more questions. I’ll take a look at your blog too.
      thanks,
      Kerstin
